Ian McKellen Discusses Superhero Movies & LGBTQI Representation

Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto in X Men Days of Future Past

The ever-candid Sir Ian McKellen is none too pleased with the state of queer representation in superhero movies, or his rather dull costume from the X-Men franchise. In blockbuster cinema as in the real world, the discussion of representation has been a driving force behind a number of issues. For some in the majority, it’s often a non-issue as they’ve never lived in a world where they can’t see themselves as heroes and powerful people. For many others, however, they see a false representation of the world on the screen or page.

Comics and genre TV have slowly provided fans who identify as LGBTQI more and more opportunities …

There Are ‘A Lot’ of Unannounced Xbox Games Apparently

There are more Xbox games coming soon than were previously announced at E3 2017, according to marketing boss Aaron Greenberg. Even as Microsoft did announce Xbox One exclusive titles such as Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves, the slate of games was relatively scant compared to the offerings of Sony — which most crucially included releases like God of War and Spider-Man for PlayStation 4.

For some, it would appear as though Microsoft is slacking compared to other prominent video game studios, despite the fact that the company has been forthright in its intentions to only reveal the prominent titles and franchise games that are the closest to completion. Regardless, …

The Dark Knight Trilogy Recut as Black Panther-Style Trailer

A new fan-made video has cut together footage from The Dark Knight Trilogy to give it a Black Panther feel. Kicking off with Batman Begins in 2005, writer-director Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy gave the comic book genre a much-needed shot in the arm.

Shot eight years after director Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin hit the wall and temporarily doomed the franchise, Nolan’s real-world setting of Batman Begins set up what would arguably become the best film in the trilogy with The Dark Knight which of course, pitted Batman (Christian Bale) against his greatest nemesis the Joker (Heath Ledger). And while the film that rounded out the trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, didn’t quite attain the level of box office success or critical acclaim as its predecessor, it still found a meaningful way to wrap up the trilogy before …
